2011-12 NHL REGULAR SEASON HOCKEY POOL RULES
HOW TO ENTER
1. The MVP Hockey Pool is open to Alberta Residents 18 and years of age and above only. Entrants are NOT Required to pay any registration fee to participate. To Participate, entrants MUST RSVP at www.flamescentral.com before October 10th, 2010 and then MUST be at Flames Central on Monday October 10th to register for the Draft between 11:00 am & 12:00 pm. Strict Limit of one draft form per person. Draft Starts at 12:05 pm sharp. Approximate time for draft will be 1 hour
2. A limited number of RSVPS will be accepted for the Draft Party on October 10th.
3. Each Entrant will make their picks on site at the draft party. The format of the pool will be a “Box Pool Format” All participants will receive a carbon copy of their picks they make on the 18th. Verification Statement confirming player selections and a full set of contest Rules will be emailed out by October 25th, 2011. Any and all discrepancies are to be reported in writing to MVP Hockey Pool by November 1, 2011 failing which the information in the Verification Statement shall be considered final and correct. No corrections will be made after November 1st, 2011. In the event of a reported discrepancy, the original entry will be reviewed and compared to the Verification Statement. All decisions of MVP HOCKEY POOL regarding discrepancies will be final. MVP HOCKEY POOL assumes no responsibility for Verification Statements not received for any reason by the Entrant.
4. FLAMES CENTRAL & CONCORDE ENTERTAINMENT GROUP staff are ineligible to participate in the hockey pool.
5. MVP HOCKEY POOL reserves the right to cancel the Draft if less than the target amount of entrants RSVP & attend the draft event on October 10th, 2010
HOW TO PLAY - POINT ACCUMULATION RULES
6. SCORING RULES - In calculating points for a hockey player, GOALS shall be worth two (2) points and ASSISTS shall be worth one (1) point. Goals & and assists shall be determined using official National Hockey League statistics. In the event a player is traded from one National Hockey League team to another National Hockey League team during the season, all goals and assists scored on all National Hockey League teams during the regular season will be included in that player's point total. Points accumulate from the commencement of the 2010-2011 regular National Hockey League season as stated by the National Hockey League.
Goalie WINS shall be worth 2 points & O.T. LOSSES worth 1 point
7. The Contest End is at the end of the National Hockey League Regular Season. In the event of a hockey players strike, or any other unforeseen interruption forcing the premature termination of the Regular Season schedule, the Contest End will coincide with whatever date National Hockey League officials publicly announce as the end of the Regular Season.
PRIZES
8. The total prize value shall be no less than $10,000. At the Regular Season End, entrants will be ranked based upon the total number of points accumulated by their chosen hockey players. Prizes shall be awarded to the Entrant(s) with the highest accumulated point totals. The prize distribution shall be as follows:
Grand Prizes: 1st Prize: TBA 2nd Prize TBA 3rd Prize TBA 4th Prize TBA 5th Prize TBA Monthly Prizes: Most Points Gained in a Month: Calgary Flames Jersey Monthly Overall Leader: $50 FC Gift Card Random Draws: FC Gift Cards, Concert Tickets, Flames Tickets, SWAG, etc
9. In the event of total point ties for Monthly or Grand Prizes, the following tie-breaking mechanism shall operate: (a) 1st tie breaker - most aggregate points (top 15 players) (b) 2nd tie breaker - most aggregate goals (top 15 players) (c) 3rd tie breaker - most aggregate goals (all players)
Should a tie still exist, the prize for the positions tied for shall be combined and divided equally amongst the tied Entrants.
10. MVP HOCKEY POOL, Flames Central, & The Concorde Entertainment Group, and any other organizers and supporters of the MVP HOCKEY POOL are not responsible for any lost, mislaid or incorrectly processed forms, or for damage or injury incurred by a contestant as a result of winning.
